Peter Park System

The challenge

High parking frequency — lots of fault messages

Hanover Central Station is one of the most frequented train stations in Germany. The parking garage and the kiss & ride zone offer 1,000 parking spaces, and around 430,000 vehicles park there every year. The existing barrier and camera-based system did not recognize the license plates reliably enough, so that the operator was frequently confronted with fault messages and customer inquiries. The barriers hampered traffic flow, particularly during peak hours and during peak travel season.

Our solution

Reliable license plate recognition

The solution designed for the main train station is based on number plate recognition at entrances and exits, which determines the parking time. The Peter Park system stands out due to the high reliability of license plate recognition. The barrier-free solution allows you to drive in and out without stopping, which leads to flowing parking traffic and prevents backlogs. More payment options round off the parking experience.
