The challenge

Seasonal management and third-party parkers

The Schnalstal Glacier Railway managed the Kurzras park area until June 2025 only in the summer months. Parking people had to buy a parking ticket from an employee. Outside this period, many third-party parkers also used the glacier lift car park — without taking the train. In order to make parking available to mountain railway users all year round and to keep third-party parkers away, the company was looking for a user-friendly and efficient parking space management solution.

Our solution

Digital and seamless glacier parking

The Schnalstal Glacier Railway decided to introduce the Peter Park system. The digital, barrier-free solution provides seamless access both in perfect summer weather and when there is snow and ice in winter, because there are no barriers. There are therefore no maintenance and operating costs for components susceptible to wear. Instead, the system works with license plate recognition at entry and exit and automatically calculates the parking time and parking fee from this.
