On the Construction and operation of car parks and underground car parks at Management Forum Starnberg The focus was on mobility concepts of the future. The conference was held from 16 to 17 June 2021 in the Werksviertel Munich.

The conference included parking as a mobility interface with multimodal uses over the course of time, innovations for parking and parking garages, and digital parking.

‍

Over two days, participants dedicated themselves to mobility concepts of the future and discussed infrastructure requirements for parking, challenges from social change and sustainable construction and management. Particularly when it comes to sustainability, attention was also paid to the issues of electric mobility and optimised use of parking space.

‍

While mobility concepts often speak of routes or transport options, stationary traffic plays a decisive role. Cars are parked for over 20 hours a day, not always on private property, but also on public land, in parking garages or on the side of the road. Parking is therefore a fundamental aspect of mobility.

‍

Parking requirements are mutually dependent on the level of mobility. For example, the pressure for e-charging stations in parking areas is increasing due to the increasing proportion of e-vehicles.

As an expert in parking space management, Peter Park shed light on the transformation of parking spaces into mobility hubs.

Am Example from the city of Miltenberg explained Maximilian Schlereth How can on-street parking be combined with off-street parking by integrating parking apps. By combining mobility services, cities can optimize utilization, manage parking guidance systems and gain transparent insights into inner-city mobility.

At the end of the first day of the conference, Peter Park welcomed Management Forum participants to WERK1. In a relaxed atmosphere, the impressions of the day could be exchanged and various players from the industry came together.
