Barrier-free parking at the Söllereckbahn in Oberstdorf
“In my opinion, the system is characterized by the fact that the hardware is simple, clear and almost maintenance-free. Another point is the user interface of the vending machine and the payment app, which our guests get along very well with. With this solution, we are achieving our three goals, which we pursued with the introduction: simple hardware, high acceptance by guests and price enforcement. “

The challenge
Before switching to the Peter Park solution, the parking area was managed and controlled with conventional ticket machines. Especially during peak hours in the morning and evening of the mountain railway, which was open almost all year round, this led to queues in front of the vending machines and delayed occupancy of parking spaces, as guests had to buy a parking ticket for the duration of their stay upon arrival and lay it out in their vehicle.
Our solution
Thanks to the digital system solution, which uses scanners to record the license plates of the vehicles as they enter and exit and thus determines the parking time, visitors no longer have to draw tickets from vending machines at the beginning. This reduces queues and crowds at peak times. With this solution, Söllereckbahn can offer its customers discounted prices for parking spaces — external parking providers pay the full price, for example.
